Our Selected Flight Experiment

TITLE: Will Microgravity Effect the Development of Goldfish?”

Grade 5

Co-Principal Investigators: Eric Chen and Eren Fitzgerald

Proposal Summary:

The purpose of this experiment is to investigate whether or not microgravity will change the development of a fertilized goldfish egg.  We will collect fertilized eggs from a tank and put them in a vial with dechlorinated tap water.  When the eggs come back from space, we will look at them and compare them to eggs developing on the ground.  The ground experiment’s purpose is to act as a control. This experiment will provide insight to whether or not development will be different in space.
