SSEP Program FAQ – Old STS-135 Version

This FAQ is updated as questions are received by the SSEP Team that relate to the overall Student Spaceflight Experiments Program, e.g., questions on program pedagogy, the Flight Experiment Design Competition, the Community Program, program customization to community need, program implementation, program cost, and how to participate, which are addressed in general terms on the About SSEP page and the How to Participate page.

To submit a question to the SSEP Team, we prefer submission by email via the Contact Us page.

February 15, 2011: no current entries – all SSEP Program FAQs resulting from the STS-134 opportunity have now been fully integrated into the newly updated content on this website in support of the STS-135 opportunity.

The Student Spaceflight Experiments Program (SSEP) is a program of the National Center for Earth and Space Science Education (NCESSE) in the U.S., and the Arthur C. Clarke Institute for Space Education internationally. It is enabled through a strategic partnership with DreamUp PBC and NanoRacks LLC, which are working with NASA under a Space Act Agreement as part of the utilization of the International Space Station as a National Laboratory. SSEP is the first pre-college STEM education program that is both a U.S. national initiative and implemented as an on-orbit commercial space venture.
