CRITICAL UPDATE to STS-134 Launch Planning Page

The clock is ticking (backwards). The excitement is palpable (yes?) Student researchers (researchers in every sense of the word) are getting ready for the flight of their experiments on Endeavour. Thousands of students, teachers, administrators, and family members across each community are cheering them on, like giddy fans of a local baseball team. SSEP Community Blogs are covering the experience as it unfolds (hmmm.) Local Newspapers are looking for interviews, and student scientists are feeling sorta like rock stars (cool.) Meanwhile, 270 are getting ready to board planes for the magical trip to Kennedy Space Center.

That must mean it’s time to play that exciting new game: “So What’s Up with the Launch Plan?” A game where contestants try to guess the location of the no-host dinner site, what we’ll be eating at KARS Park, and where exactly do we go for the SSEP Community Network Meeting on April 30. These are, actually, all burning questions for the soon-to-be travelers.

What Bob? They just canceled the game show? That’s network TV.

Well, not to worry. We have all the details at the NEWLY UPDATED Launch Plans for STS-134 page. You are all invited to read the page CAREFULLY for the latest information.

The Student Spaceflight Experiments Program (SSEP) is a program of the National Center for Earth and Space Science Education (NCESSE) in the U.S., and the Arthur C. Clarke Institute for Space Education internationally. It is enabled through a strategic partnership with DreamUp PBC and NanoRacks LLC, which are working with NASA under a Space Act Agreement as part of the utilization of the International Space Station as a National Laboratory. SSEP is the first pre-college STEM education program that is both a U.S. national initiative and implemented as an on-orbit commercial space venture.
